• How soon should I start the order process for my wedding invitations?

    Ideally, the process should be started 4 to 6 months before you want your invitation mailed out. Generally, there is an 8 to 10 week turn around time once your order is placed.


  • How soon should I start the order process for Birth Announcements?

    The timeframe for custom birth announcements is typically 2-3 months prior to your due date. This gives you enough time to create a design & then simply supply us with the details after the arrival of your little one.

    If you prefer to order an existing design from our website, the turnaround time is typically 5 business days.

    Envelopes can be pre-shipped to you for addressing or computer calligraphy is also available for an additional fee. If you choose the option of computer calligraphy, we will gladly mail the stationery for you, plus the cost of postage.



  • What is the design process like?

    The first step in the process is a complimentary consultation where we exchange information about your event and/or stationery. A design fee of $75 is collected to begin the process of creating your custom design. The design fee also reserves your event in our calendar. You will receive a digital proof within 5 business days for your approval. Two revisions are included in the design process. A hardcopy proof will be mailed to you once we've reached consensus on your final design. The printing and assembly process will begin once we've received full payment.


  • How are my invitations & announcements printed?

    All items are printed, in-house, on an award winning, laser printer. Letterpress, thermography, or foil printing are also available for an additional fee.


  • Do the invitations come assembled?

    All of your stationery comes fully assembled. If you prefer to do your own assembly, a 10% credit of the invitation cost will be applied to your order.


  • Do you offer Calligraphy services?

    We offer computer calligraphy. This service allows us to print your envelopes in a font style & color that coordinates with your invitation or announcement. The cost for this service is $0.75 per envelope. If you choose to include this service, we will be happy to mail your stationery directly to the addresses you have provided to us, plus the cost of postage. Please note that 1st Comes Love... does not proof read any addresses nor are we liable for any mailing errors due to innacurate addresses.


  • What is your payment process?

    The custom design fee of $75 is collected prior to starting the proofs. This fee is non-refundable and is necessary to reserve your event in our calendar. Once we have received your final approval, full payment is due. The printing and assembly process will only begin once full payment has been received.


  • Why do you charge a design fee?

    The design fee of $75 is applicable to custom and semi-custom orders. The process of creating a custom invitation or announcement is very time consuming. The design fee is non-refundable.


  • What types of payment do you accept?

    We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, & Discover. Checks require a 5 day clearing period before any work begins. All payments are processed thru PayPal.


  • Do you accept rush orders?

    Rush orders are accepted on a case by case basis. Additional fees will apply.


  • Are there quicker design options available to me?

    Rather than creating a custom invitation or announcement, you are welcome to explore our gallery of designs on the website. All of these designs are available for order & can be modified to meet your needs. Items that can be changed free of charge include font colors & paper. Changes in font style & layout can be made for a fee of $75. The turn around time on these items is usually 4 to 5 weeks.


  • Are samples available before ordering?

    Samples of select designs are available. All samples are $10 and are customizable with the details of your event. Sample orders include a list of typestyle choices, ordering details, & color swatches. Up to $20 of your samples purchase will be credited towards your order. Please let us know if there is a specific sample you are looking for. We will try to accomodate your request, additional fees may apply.


  • Is color matching available?

    We will try to do our best to accommodate your color requests. Please provide us with the colors you would like us to match. These can either be mailed to us or given to us at the first consultation.


  • What is included in a wedding invitation set?

    A wedding invitation set includes: your invitation layer, an insert of your choice, your response card, your response envelope and your maling envelope. Your invitation layer, insert, & response card printing are included in the invitation set price indicated on the detail page. Return address printing, response envelope printing, & computer calligraphy are all available for an additional fee.


  • Can I get my envelopes ahead of time?

    We are happy to send you your envelopes early for you or calligrapher to begin addressing them. A shipping fee of $8 applies for this service.


  • Can I get my envelopes stamped?

    Yes, but only if you choose the computer calligraphy service. We are happy to offer this time-saving service for busy brides who do not want to worry about a thing! You may choose which stamps to purchase from www.usps.com, and we will order and affix them for you. We are also happy to mail the invitations directly to your guests or simply send them direclty to you ready to be mailed out.


  • What if I like a design but don't see it in my event colors?

    That's the benefit of custom design. We are happy to redesign the invitation so that it complements your event's style. We will happily put together a new quote for you based on your needs. Please feel free to email us for more information or simply customize your chosen design. We will get back to you promptly.


  • Are all the designs on the website available to order as a sample?

    Unfortunately, no. While we would like to offer all of our designs as samples, we only keep a limited quantity of samples on hand. We know it is important for our clients to actually hold the design in their hands to feel the textures & see the colors. This is why as part of the design process we mail a hard copy proof of the final design for your approval.


  • Are orders cancellable or refundable?

    Due to the customized nature of our products, no full refunds will be given. If there is a problem with your order, we will gladly work with you to correct the mistake in a manner that is acceptable to both parties. Should you need to cancel your order after you have paid, we will work with you to arrive at a partial refund relative to the cost of time and materials already accrued at the time of cancellation.


  • How many invitation sets should I order?

    We suggest that your order 10% more than your total needed. We realize that everyone makes mistakes and that is why extra blank envelopes are available for purchase. Additional mailing envelopes are sold in sets of 10. Please indicate that you would like to order these in the special instructions section of the order page.


  • How do I order a completely custom design?

    To order a completely custom design, please click on any of the highlighted custom links. You will be taken to a form where you will be able to fill out detailed information for your event.   • How many weddings do you work on at a time?

    1st Comes Love... is a small invitation studio where all the designing, printing and assembly is done in-house. To maintain the quality and service that we provide our clients, we limit the number of wedding projects we take on in a given month. For those of you who may be interested in working with us, we suggest reserving your space with us.
